Overview

Lead the organisational change management activities for Primark's Global Point of Sale (GPOS) programme, supporting the successful deployment and adoption of the new Point of Sale solution across stores and markets. 

 

Working closely with the Programme Manager, Technology teams, business stakeholders and implementation partners, the Change Manager will drive business readiness, stakeholder engagement and business adoption throughout the programme lifecycle, ensuring a smooth transition with minimal disruption to store operations and internal trade operations.  

Responsibilities

  • Develop and deliver the Change Management Strategy aligned to the GPOS programme roadmap and deployment schedule.  
  • Conduct change impact assessments to understand the impacts on store colleagues, retail operations, support functions and business processes.  
  • Define and manage business readiness activities across pilot and deployment markets.  
  • Build strong relationships with key stakeholders across Retail Operations, Store Teams, Technology, Learning & Development, Customer Services, Finance, Legal, Audit and regional business teams.  
  • Develop and execute a communications strategy, including leadership communications, deployment updates, FAQs, business readiness communications and market-specific messaging.  
  • Support the training managers with the coordination and embedding of and enablement activities  
  • Support deployment planning, cutover activities, go-live readiness and post-go-live hypercare 
  • Identify and manage change risks, stakeholder resistance and adoption challenges, implementing mitigation plans where required 
  • Monitor adoption, business readiness, training completion and deployment success through KPIs and reporting dashboards.  
  • Support the embedding of new retail processes, ways of working and operating procedures enabled by the GPOS solution.  
  • Contribute to programme governance through RAID management, reporting and Steering Committee updates.  

Qualifications

  • Undergraduate Degree or equivalent work experience

Desirable:

  • Additional certification in Change Management (e.g. APMG, Prosci/ADKAR)
  • Related Post-graduate qualification

Essential skills

  • Experience delivering Point of Sale (POS) or retail technology implementations.  
  • Experience within a global retail organisation.  
  • Knowledge of retail store operations and customer journeys.  
  • Experience supporting pilot, phased and international deployments.  
  • Prosci, APMG or equivalent Change Management certification.  
  • Experience working within Agile, Waterfall or hybrid delivery environments. 

Experience

  • Degree or equivalent professional experience.  
  • Minimum five years' experience delivering organisational change within large technology transformation programmes.  
  • Proven experience supporting enterprise technology or retail transformation programmes.  
  • Experience delivering change across multiple locations, business functions or international markets.  
  • Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills.  
  • Experience developing and delivering communication, engagement and training strategies.  
  • Experience conducting Change Impact Assessments and Business Readiness Assessments.  
  • Excellent facilitation, presentation and workshop skills.  
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams and third-party implementation partners.  
  • Strong planning, organisation and prioritisation skills.  
  • Experience using Microsoft Office and collaboration tools such as Teams, SharePoint and Miro.
