Overview

We are seeking a hands‑on, delivery‑oriented Lead Engineer to join our Product Development & Engineering function. This is a senior technical leadership role with responsibility for guiding engineering teams in the design and development of advanced, scalable, secure, and user‑centric solutions.


In this role, you will drive the technical direction of software products, champion modern engineering practices, and fully embrace AI‑enabled tooling to accelerate delivery and improve quality.

 

We are looking for individuals with the curiosity, capability, and willingness to explore, experiment with, and productionise emerging technologies. You will help shape strategic technology capabilities while ensuring high standards of engineering excellence, security and performance.

Responsibilities

Lead and inspire engineering teams

  • Manage and mentor a small team of experienced, AI‑enabled full‑stack engineers,
  • Foster a culture of innovation, high quality, and continuous improvement.
  • Operate as a hands‑on leader who guides by example.

Design and deliver enterprise solutions

  • Build scalable, secure, and robust full‑stack applications using modern technologies and AI‑enhanced engineering practices.
  • Drive innovative approaches to create high‑value business solutions.

Set and deliver the technology roadmap

  • Collaborate with product managers, architects, and stakeholders to understand business opportunities and align engineering direction.
  • Define and oversee the technical strategy and architectural vision.

Lead automation and engineering innovation

  • Promote and implement AI‑driven acceleration throughout the software development lifecycle.
  • Champion new tools, techniques, and automation strategies.

Collaborate across teams

  • Work with cross‑functional technology groups to ensure alignment on standards, tooling, and engineering processes.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of organisation‑wide capabilities.

Stay at the forefront of technology

  • Maintain strong engagement with emerging technologies, industry trends, and best practices.
  • Bring forward new ideas and ensure the team remains a leader in innovation.

  • Experience working on large‑scale, globally deployed, business‑critical platforms.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong working relationships across teams and locations.

Experience

  • Demonstrated ability to lead and develop distributed engineering teams working on complex, business‑critical systems.
  • Strong cloud‑native engineering experience.
  • An agile, incremental delivery mindset and comfort working in distributed, collaborative environments.
  • Experience with modern cloud application architectures and reusable component approaches.
  • Enthusiasm for leveraging AI across the software development lifecycle, including building AI‑enabled components.
