As an Android Developer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining secure, high-performance mobile payment applications. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver innovative solutions using Kotlin and modern Android frameworks.

NOTE: This role is based on-site, 5 days a week, at our Nenagh, Co Tipperary office.

• Design and develop secure, high-quality Android applications for seamless payment experiences.
• Troubleshoot and optimise applications across a wide range of devices and environments.
• Refactor and enhance existing codebases for performance, maintainability, and scalability.
• Implement monitoring and logging to ensure enterprise-grade reliability.
• Collaborate with architects, product owners, and DevOps engineers to gather requirements and translate them into technical designs.
• Contribute to sprint planning and estimation, providing technical insight to delivery discussions.
• Participate in code reviews, mentor peers, and promote engineering best practices and continuous improvement.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.

   

• Experience in the payments domain (e.g. Nexo Standards, EMVCo, PCI/PTS compliance) is highly desirable.

• 4+ years of experience designing and developing Android applications.
• Strong proficiency in Kotlin, Java, and the Android SDK.
• Solid understanding of UI/UX principles, including Figma handoff and multi-device optimisation.
• Experience with popular Android libraries and frameworks.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, Git/GitHub, Maven, and tools like Jira/Confluence.
• Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
• Analytical and detail-oriented approach to problem solving.
• Comfortable working in Agile Scrum teams.

• Experience with REST APIs, SOA, and database design.
• Exposure to distributed computing environments.
• Familiarity with RxJava, functional programming, MVP/MVC, or React Native.
• Experience with Android ROM or the Android Open Source Project is a plus.
• Strong focus on test automation and reliability across edge cases.
